Become a funding or content partner

You can help us launch Making Open by becoming a funding partner. Donations made in Australia are tax deductible via the Australian Cultural Fund.

Content partnerships are also a great way to contribute to Making Open. We can collaborate with you to design content to add to the kit or you can contribute content, tools or guides to our library, reaching new audiences.

how your funding will help 

We’ve identified a need for compelling content, storytelling guidance and learning pathways to support the thousands of local advocates and changemakers across the world.

Your funds will go towards helping us: 

  • get our design asset library online and added to the platforms advocates use like Canva and Google

  • produce short films, explainer animations, and documentaries in collaboration with other artists and film makers

  • design learning pathways

  • making it easy for people to use the kit and create compelling stories, project profiles and case studies

  • develop the message and story engine for plain language explainers

  • set up the online library and a channel for people to contribute their own images, designs and messages reflecting their country, culture, and context 

What’s next?

Our growing community of people who work in civil society organisations and governments spans Africa, Australia, Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, North America, and the Middle East.

It’s important for us to make sure people with no resources can access what they need for free - and establish a way for people who can afford it, to pay.

We are working on ways to generate revenue and a sustainable funding model to cover our costs and reward contributing artists and designers.

About the Australian Cultural Fund

Making Open is a registered project on the Australian Cultural Fund. An Australian Government platform managed by Creative Australia, the fund has no fees and 100% of donations goes directly towards artists’ creative projects. Donations over $2 are also tax-deductible.
